Wat Sri Chum, an ancient Thai temple in Sukothai, has the largest and perhaps best known Thailand Buddha in Sukhothai.
The Phra Atchana Buddha image is a perfect example of Sukhothai Buddhist art and is exceptionally beautiful. Like many of the Thailand Buddha statues in Sukhothai, the Phra Atchana is in the “subduing Mara” or “overcoming evil” position. The Phra Atchana was constructed with bricks and laterite blocks which were covered in plaster and stands 15m high and over 11m wide.
