In 1994, Her Majesty the Queen gave permission for the Maesa Botanic Garden to be renamed as the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is located just outside Chiang Mai on the Maerim-Samoeng road, on the edge of the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park and serves as a conservation centre for endangered plants and as an educational resource. Covering an area of 1000 hectares, The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is an International class botanic garden with a large number of outstanding attractions for the visitor and one of the most beautiful of all Thailands Parks and Gardens.

As you enter the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden there is an information Centre where maps of the garden are available. The large complex of glasshouses with displays of tropical rainforest plants,is perhaps the most prominent feature but there are many other attractions including a White Flower Garden, Bottle Tree Park, Natural Science Museum, a Climbing Plants trail, Arboretum Trail, Thai Orchid Nursery and a Waterfall where you can sit to relax and enjoy the shade.
The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is open Daily 8:30am – 5:00 pm.
