With the imminent release of Ong Bak 3, Tony Jaa will once again fill the silver screen with incredible displays of martial arts. Tony Jaa has fought and kicked his way to super stardom taking his rightful place alongside his own idols Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. So just who is this Tony Jaa who has taken Thailand and Hollywood by storm.

Tony Jaa was born Panom Yeerum in Surin, a province in N.E. Thailand on the 5th February 1976. From a very young age Panom was captivated by the movies of Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and Jet Li and began to learn Muay Thai at the age of 10.
Ong Bak, Muay Thai Warrior, the Thai movie released in 2003 was Tony Jaa’s first role as leading man. It was Praycha Pinkaew, the director of Ong Bak who nicknamed him Tony Jaa. Tony Jaa is known in Thailand as Jaa Panom. Ong Bak was a major box office success and for Tony Jaa Ong Bak was the beginning of his rise to fame. In Ong Bak, Tony Jaa displays his Martial Arts skills including an ancient form of Muay Thai known as Ling Lom. Since Ong Bak, Tony Jaa has starred in Tom Yum Goong (Warrior King/The Protector), and Ong Bak 2, the sequel to Ong Bak, which was released in 2008.
In Ong Bak 3, Tony Jaa will not only star as a master of the martial arts but along with Panna Rittikrai, the Director of the movie, will also be the Producer. Ong Bak 3 will be the sequel to Ong Bak 2 and the prequel to Ong Bak.
