Hanuman is the Hindu Monkey God, an incarnation of Shiva, and one of the heroes in the Indian epic, the Ramayana. The Thai version of the Ramayana is known as the Ramakien. In this tale, Hanuman devoted himself to Lord Rama in his fight against evil. Hanuman is worshipped by many people as a symbol of physical strength, perseverance and devotion.

The Hanuman Yant is frequently chosen by people born in The Year of the Monkey

All our photographs were taken at a Temple outside Chiang Mai and we would like to thank Phra Ajarn Gamtorn for allowing us to photograph his work. Further information on Phra Ajarn Gamtorn can be found at Sak Yant Chiang Mai
